I am a big fan of Arizona State University and their design program. When I read the recent article titled, "Introducing the Student Organization of Women Architects and Allied Arts" from ASU's State Press, I was immediately energized and inspired by the young women mentioned. One of the reasons, is that we have a similar mission in bringing the spotlight to women in the creative world and discussing the inequality issue within our field.
I am an architect, a business owner, entrepreneur, CEO, designer and more. If you are new to H-A-L-E.com and just discovering my digital platform than you will learn that I am also a woman. A woman that celebrates other women in all aspects of life, but especially in the creative world. Whether that be in architecture, design, fashion, or art - it has been my mission for the past two years to put the spotlight on women that are changing the creative game.
As some of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. The National Breast Cancer Foundation and many other organizations around the country have a mission in place to help bring attention to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.

It is with great pleasure that I get to share with you some exciting news. I am so honored to have partnered with The Arizona Cardinals on this incredible project. My team at Bar Napkin Productions has made me so proud and I have nothing but gratitude for everyone that has been working with us every step of the way.
We have got to talk about all the buzz surrounding Madalyn Parker and the email she sent to her team at work. Madeline went on to say she'd be out of office for a few days to focus on her mental health. The response she received from her company's CEO has sparked a larger discussion about what is a rarely-talked topic in the workplace.
H-A-L-E.com is a place for women of all ages to come and get inspired. Most of my thoughts on here come from other women in the creative industry that motivate me and make me think. It is also a place where I like to share my own personal journey and lessons learned. Let me tell ya, each day seems to bring new "Ah-ha moments!" Yes, the learning never stops and it never will.
Today is the one year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy that took the lives of 49 beautiful souls. My team at Bar Napkin Productions (bnp-llc.com) will be honoring them in our own special way. I send my deepest condolences to the victim's families and friends. My heart breaks for each of them. I cannot imagine what they are going through, but I promised myself to honor their loved ones but taking action. #HonorThemWithAction
Today celebrates National Best Friends Day, a day to honor that one person (or in my case a very special group of colorful characters) you call your “best friend.”
This day is a time to show them how much you appreciate them, how special and important they are to you and how you cherish their friendship.
The Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature. You can find this famous questionnaire in the back pages of Vanity Fair. It has served its purpose in getting to know some of the world’s most significant personalities.
Las Vegas is known for its pleasure chest of adult adventures and attractions such as gambling, a never ending nightlife, pool parties, strip clubs, and hospitality hot spots galore. From a design and architectural point of view - I must give Viva Las Vegas some major props. In the past decades, Vegas went through some rapid development, growth and spontaneous redesign. The city’s story, of historic landmarks, famous signage, and that mid-century modern twist seems to have disappeared. However, you can still relive the true essence of Vegas by taking a tour of the Neon Museum.
Spring is here which means we can put those closed toe shoes and scratchy sweaters away for good. The Arizona heat is on the rise here in the Valley of the Sun, but you won't find me complaining because I am all about the sunshine and blue skies. Although all of the seasons have their ups and downs, Spring just happens to be my most favorite. There is just something about it that makes me stop and reflect.
Happy Tuesday to anyone that has landed on my blog. My goal for any random reader or loyal friend that happened to lay their eyes on my dear, H-A-L-E.com, is to bring a smile to their face, make them think, inspire them, motivate them, and allow their minds to drift off into a world where women's voices are heard and their creative expression is honored. Such a mission is something I plan to dedicate the rest of my life to doing.
Every time I am in Los Angles, I make it a point to dine at one of the best pizza places in the country. Ladies and gentleman, I am talking about Pizzeria Mozza! For those of you that have not had the pleasure to sink your teeth into a piece of their famous pizza pie, I am here to tell you that it's easily one of the most flavorful bites you will ever taste.
Dreaming of a tropical getaway? Me too! Traveling to a paradise with crystal clear coves and deep blue oceans is just what the doctor ordered. I have always been passionate about traveling to other countries. Growing up my parents made it a point to take us on mini vacations from time to time. They always expressed the importance of learning about countries outside of the United States. In my twenties, I spent months living abroad taking in other cultures up close and personal.
If you were to browse through my Google Calendar, from first glimpse you'd see a rainbow of colored coded appointments and meetings each day of the week. Not a surprise for a woman that owns her own design firm - it is what to be expected. And, at times I like to admit that I secretly like having a full deck of bookings. It keeps my mind in check and I always have something to look forward to each day of the week. However, like everything else in life, "balance" is the secret to not going insane.
Summer is a hop, skip, and a jump away which means I have been making a list of all the vacation spots I want to try and visit. I am one of those people that must be around water during the hot months of summer or it simply does not feel like I am on a vacation. I really don't care what type of body of water it is - an ocean, a lake, a river, a freakin puddle for that matter. Just bring me to the H2O! What I know for sure is that there is something incredibly soothing about being around water.
