This is going to be the best seven days of this calendar year yet. Let's all take a moment and disregard the craziness that "Mercury in Retrograde" has recently set upon us, and focus on the beauty and inspiration that is going to light up our coming days. Yes, I am talking about the combination of the start of Milan Design Week and the celebration of #NationalPetDay! For those of you that know me best, you can attest that design is at the very top of my list of loves, but my passion for animals (particularly my cat, Lola) is a close second. Depending on the day, Lola has been known to claw her way to the number one spot. You must not blame, she is just like me in a lot of ways - very determined and somewhat competitive.
Interesting enough, the Internet has already released some fabulous images from its cages of what to expect from Milan Design Week. And, may I kindly note - they seem to be right in-sync with my animal loving mood.
Let me bring your attention to artist, Paola Pivi and her famous feathered bears that are inside the windows of Milan's La Rinascente department store. This iconic building is known as the city's first ever modern clothing store and now a centerpiece for many exhibitions for Milan Design Week.
Paola Pivi redesigned eight windows overlooking Piazza Duomo and encourages people to enter a universe where anything is possible. I honor her reference to art and her message of living a free lifestyle with a direct connection between nature and work.
With the images of Pivi's display fresh in our minds, let us kick off this week by letting our minds run wild.
